Heritage Plaques of Harrogate

"This HCS website provides a wealth of information on the Brown Heritage plaques in Harrogate . With 87 Brown plaques (and a few others), there's plenty to see. The website includes photographs, maps, walking trails and content information on the plaques."

Harrogate Library

Providing a full library and information service to the residents of Harrogate, with many associated facilities.
The foundation stone was laid on 17 October 1904 by Alderman Horace Milling JP, Mayor of Harrogate. It underwent a £3.4 million restoration which was completed in 2010 and was reopened by the Duke of Gloucester in 2011. The library was awarded Grade II listing in 1975.

NYCC Records Office

"On the reorganisation of local government in 1974, Harrogate was moved from the former West Riding into North Yorkshire. Accordingly, the county record office has many records relating to the town, including of its local government but also of such as schools, churches and chapels."

WYJS (Archive Service)

"The West Yorkshire Archive Service collects and looks after the unique documentary heritage of the region. We have five district offices - Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield."

Harrogate and District Family History Society

"Harrogate and District Family History Society is a small independent society which was established in 2006 having previously partnered with Ripon Historical Society. We are a registered charity run solely by enthusiastic volunteers with a passion for family and local history."
The object of the Society is to provide family history and Genealogy education for the benefit of anyone living in the Harrogate and surrounding areas or who have family links to that area.
