Jean-Georges Simon plaque

New HCS plaque

October

2021

A plaque recognising the Hungarian born artist Jean-Georges Simon was unveiled by the Mayor of Harrogate, Cllr Trevor Chapman on Saturday 18th September at 4 Park Road. This was timed to coincide with the Heritage Open Days events taking place that week and had been postponed from 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. The society was pleased that along with the Mayor & Mayoress, Krisztina Katai-Nagy the Consul General of Hungary, from Manchester, was also able to attend. Also Robert Waterhouse and Robin Sutcliffe, who contributed greatly to the establishment of this plaque. Many thanks must also go to the current owners of the property, Victoria and Nick Cannon, for hosting the event and providing refreshments.
