HODS Event:

Wesley Chapel

Wesley Chapel
Oxford Street, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG1 1PP

Explore this large, neo-classical, Grade II listed Methodist chapel in the heart of Harrogate.

Dating from 1862, and built by Lockwood and Mawson in the classical meeting house style with unusual curved gallery and superb woodwork. Recently completely re-furbished and re-seated. Its organ is over a century old, and the chapel is frequently used as a concert venue by world-renowned pianists.

On Saturday there will be an exhibition of the heritage of Wesley, with musical interludes throughout the day on the organ or piano to demonstrate the musical heritage of our church. A booklet "Wesley Chapel - A Guided Tour" will be available, with volunteers on hand to answer questions. Sunday is our harvest service at 1030 and we would welcome anyone who would like to join us; afterwards the chapel will remain open until 1600 for visitors to look around."
