Knaresborough Castle Keep

Knaresborough Castle, Castle Yard, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, HG5 8AS

It might seem peaceful now, but the Castle was one a mighty stronghold of medieval kings. Built in the 14th century by Edward II, the Keep was a luxury royal residence. Explore the King's Chamber, the dungeon, the garderobe and ancient graffiti.

Entrance to the Keep is free, along with the Castle Grounds.
(Please note there is an entry charge to the Museum.)

Access
This historic building has steep, winding staircases and uneven floors. Access is very limited for wheelchairs. Disabled toilets are located in Castle Yard car park at the entrance to the castle site. The surrounding castle grounds are accessible to wheelchairs.

This event will run in line with local & national government guidelines at the time of the festival.

The Castle is located in the town centre, close to the Market Place. The nearest car park in Castle Yard.
