HBC Civic Centre - CANCELLED
Harrogate Borough Council Civic Centre
Harrogate Borough Council, Civic Centre, St. Lukes Avenue, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG1 2AE
The Civic Centre, home to Harrogate Borough Council, is opening up its doors for the final time ahead of its merger into the new unitary authority. This is a unique opportunity to visit and have a guided tour of the heart of Harrogate’s democracy.
The state of the art facility, first opened in December 2018, boasts an impressive circular council chamber, encircled by airy open-plan office spaces and individual conference rooms. Built on the original Knapping Mount site, visitors will be able to explore Harrogate’s democratic hub alongside a helpful guide who will detail the building process while giving a wider history of the locality. There will also be the opportunity to view the extensive civic silver collection which will be on full display. As a working building, it is rare that members of the public can be given the opportunity to have access to see this unique site.
