The European presence in Edwardian Harrogate – ‘Zoom’ talk

This illustrated talk by the social historian Dr. Paul Jennings will look at groups of workers from several parts of Europe who lived and worked in Edwardian Harrogate. They comprised Jews fleeing persecution in eastern Europe who worked in tailoring; Italians who worked in retail and as street musicians; Germans who also worked as musicians; and particularly men working in the hotel trade from Germany, Austria, France and Italy.
