The Crescent Gardens building, which was formerly the municipal offices and incorporates sections of the earlier Victoria Baths is currently on the market.  The building is located in an area rich in landmark buildings which include: the Mercer Art Gallery, the Royal Pump Room Museum, the Royal Hall and the Royal Baths.

The Civic Society, along with some of the other voluntary organisations in the town, is promoting the idea of establishing a Cultural Quarter, centred around a ‘Hub‘ in the central section of the building.

The development of a Hub within the Crescent Gardens building would provide a cultural centre for public benefit and enjoyment, which would contribute to the rich and varied cultural scene through an understanding of our past, creating a legacy for the long term benefit of the community and visitors alike.
